Specialist knowledge course for activities Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials and for the remediation of radioactive contaminated sites (Module NH)

  • 31. August 2023

Brenk Systemplanung GmbH, together with Haus der Technik e.V. in Essen, is now running the specialist knowledge course for activities involving NORM (Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials) and for the remediation of radioactive contaminated sites (Module NH), see http://www.hdt.de/VA23-01507.

With the amendment of the Radiation Protection Act 2018, the legislator has placed a stronger focus on the regulation of NORM by explicitly including radon and radioactive contaminated sites, among other things, thus extending the protection of the public. This has direct implications for companies and workplaces in the oil and gas industry, in deep geothermal energy or in the dewatering of mining operations, partly in the chemical industry as well as the building materials industry or in radon-relevant companies and workplaces such as in waterworks with regard to occupational health and safety as well as indirect implications with regard to the public perception of these companies.

The course is aimed at responsible persons, managers and experts from the above-mentioned areas who are concerned about the well-being of people and the environment and who want to actively shape the public perception of the topic of “natural radioactivity” through professional know-how. Furthermore, official institutions are addressed who want to train and empower their employees in the broad field of radioactivity.
